It’s taken a few months to pull this together but tomorrow is the first meeting of what I hope will be the start of a strong network of people supporting each other through, and beyond, their breast cancer journey.
This is a non-gender specific group and my aim is to provide an open, supportive, non-judgemental, educative & informative environment. A place where we can share our fears, our challenges and our triumphs. Where we can be simply be heard and offer support and courage to one another.
This is a free group and as a breast cancer survivor, and thriver, I am committed to supporting others in their journey. While I will be facilitating the group it remains with group members to determine group rules and expectations and even meeting frequency, timing & venues.
The Mittagong RSL Club have kindly contributed private space for us to meet and I am most grateful for their support. We are fortunate enough to be offered private space in the one of the upstairs meeting areas. Please check with reception which room the meeting will be in as this may alter each meeting. Group participants are welcome to purchase a tea, coffee or a cool drink from the venue and bring to the meeting space.
Tomorrow (27th January 2016) is the initial meeting. Thereafter the intention is to meet every 4th Wednesday of each month. To begin, our calendar dates are:
- 27th January
- 24th February
- 23rd March
- 27th April
For our first meeting the wonderful Sarah, from FlowerFlower in Mittagong, has donated a bunch of flowers for someone to take home with them.
Wherever you are in your breast cancer journey please feel welcome to come along.
