What to Expect in a therapy session with Lesley

Never been to a counselling session before? Here’s an idea of what to expect.

  • Sessions last for one hour
  • Fill out basic form with information such as contact details, local doctor, any medications and reason for making appointment.
  • Will explain the private and strictly confidential nature of the session
  • Will help you feel at ease and answer any questions you might have
  • May ask you some questions to better assess the issues and determine how I can provide support
  • You talk and I listen. Unlike some therapists, I don’t take notes as this interferes with giving you my full attention.
  • Complete focus on what you are saying
  • Work together with you to identify issues and how to make progress towards personal growth and change
  • Offer you a regular appointment time
